Abstract
The research investigates the contributions of Juma’atu Nasril Islam to the development of Islam. The aim is to highlight the Muslims about the activities that arises from Juma’atu Nasril Islam such as building schools (Isamiyya) and Mosque buildings etc. questionnaires were the tools used for the collection of essential data needed by the researcher. The questionnaires were designed for all categories of Muslims within the area of the research, Barikin-Ladi Local Government Area. All the above will help the Muslim Ummah to identify the problems that hinder Islam from progressing rapidly. The work also will provide information to researchers who are researching for the true history of Islam in Plateau State.

CHAPTER ONE
1.1. Background to the Study
In their effort to educate the Muslim Ummah, the Jama’atu Nasril Islam present in Barikin-Ladi L.G.A has done a lot in trying to educate the Muslims. This research is carried out on the contributions of Jama’atu Nasril Islam to the development of Islam in Barikin-Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State. The research covers all districts of Barikin-Ladi Local Government Area. It is carried out to know the contributions of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (J.N.I) towards the development of Islam in Barikin-Ladi. This research will be done through interview with various people of the area to find out how the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (J.N.I) has contributed towards the development of Islam in Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area.
However, the historical existence of Barikin-Ladin cannot be complete without the mention of the woman “Malama Ladi” and the most ancient tin mining is the major economic factor that has attracted and helped people to settle down.
The Local Government Area comprises of districts which include the following:

1.2. Statement of the Problem
This research work is carried out to investigate and outline the contributions of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (J.N.I) as an Islamic organization towards the progress of Islam.
There are some certain problems that hinder the enhancement or development of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (J.N.I) in Barikin-Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
This problem includes the misconception or misunderstanding of the real teaching of Islam. Some people of the area see it as the religion that only belongs to Arabs or Hausa and therefore, whoever embraces Islam, becomes an Arab or Hausa.
Another problem is that some Mallam of the organization (J.N.I) demand some items such as ram or money from the hands of those who want to enter or embrace Islam.
1.3. Purpose of the Study
The purpose of the study includes among others:
i. To fulfill the partial requirements for the award of National Certificate in Education (NCE).
ii. To find out the solution to the problems facing Jama’atu Nasril Islam (J.N.I)
iii. To highlight to the Muslims Ummah the importance of integration among Muslim communities.
iv. To find out the contributions of Muslims to the development of Islamic education in Barikin-Ladi Local Government Area.
v. To educate Muslims on activities of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (J.N.I).
vi. To show the disadvantages of disintegration among the Muslim Ummah.
1.4. Research Questions
In order collect appropriate data, the researcher asked the following questions:
i. In your own opinion, did Jama’atu Nasril Islam (J.N.I) achieve its aims of unifying Muslim communities in your area?
ii. Does Jama’atu Nasril Islam construct or assist in construction of Mosques in your area?
iii. Does Jama’atu Nasril Islam organize Islamic programmes e.g. conferences and seminars in your area?
iv. Does Jama’atu Nasril Islam face some problems in your own metropolis when propagating Islam?
v. Does Jama’atu Nasril Islam comprise all Muslim communities in her preaching in your area?
vi. What do you think could be the solution to these problems?
1.5. Research Hypothesis
The hypothesis of this work are:
i. That through these organizations a society can contribute to the development of its citizens.
ii. That these organizations have contributed enough towards the development of Islam in Barikin-Ladi.
iii. That there is Significant relationship between the Jama’atu Nasril Islam and people of Barikin-Ladi.
1.6. Significance of the Study
The significance of this study is to stimulate further writings and discussions towards the contributions of Jama’atu Nasril Islam to the development of Islam in Barikin-Ladi with the aim of uplifting the Islamic society in terms of propagating of Islamic teaching at Islamic building of schools and other meaningful contributions towards the development of Islam.
1.7. Scope and Delimitation of the Study
The area of the study is restricted to Barikin-Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State. It reviewed how Jama’atu Nasril Islam contributed to the development of Islam in Barikin-Ladi Local Government Area.
1.8. Operational Definition of Terms
The researcher has to bring out some words used in the work and break them more in order to avoid confusion to whoever will be reading the work.
Contributions: Contributions simply refer to support.
Jama’atu: A group of people
Nasril: The successors or the victory.
Islam: Islam means peace and can also be referred to
as total submission to the will of Allah.
Development: It refers to both quantitative and qualitative
changes. It refers to increase in the ability of a person to function properly in any situation at any age level.
Allah: It means may He be glorified (Allah).
